A few months following his release, a politician, whose involvement in certain financial scandals led to his imprisonment, decides to organize certain lectures. The lectures will give him the opportunity to explain the reasons that led to his involvement in the embezzlement of public funds and will simultaneously provide him with a way to financially support himself. His arguments are based on the premise that the tolerance of the citizens as far as the arrogance and corruption of the politicians is concerned, is what essentially sustains this status quo, since any citizen is selectively and consciously indifferent towards any methods that a politician employs, as long as they benefit from the results. Once more, the citizen is placed on the position of the accused; the play is constructed in a way that one doubts the degree of incorruptibility of the citizens and the faults of the politicians. After all, as the politician declares, I will not, for any reason, accept that I betrayed anyone more than he has betrayed himself.
