  • The Amazons Will Always Return is a metaphysical surge and a call to resistance.Antonousa Kastanaki, a young woman from the small village of Kera in Kissamos, Chania, who went to the mountains and fought against the Turks disguised as a man, returns to the world of the living after her death.Outraged by the abuse and murder of women at the hands of their husbands, she returns to arm the hand of vengeance.A century and a half ago, this young woman dared to rebel, break free from her shackles and forge her own path, defying the destiny others had laid out for her. Having fought the enemy to the very end, she cannot accept such a reality for women in the modern world.
