Elena Delliou is a PhD Candidate of American Theatre at the Department of American Literature and Culture, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where she currently teaches courses on drama and critical writing as part of her PhD. Her thesis is on the modern American playwright Charles Mee and his (Re)making of Greek Tragedies and has presented research papers at international conferences on this topic, with one pending publication. She was also a member of the organizing committee at the 2013 international conference “The Viewing of Politics and the Politics of Viewing: Theatre Challenges in the Age of Globalizing Communities”, held in Thessaloniki. She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University, and an MA in American Studies from King’s College, University of London. Ηer research focuses on modern and contemporary American drama, ancient and modern Greek theatre, and critical theory, and is also interested in literary and dramatic translation. She speaks Greek, English, Spanish and French.
