Based on the novel with the same title
Four villages (East, West, North and South), a school in the middle of nowhere, maize fields, three trees, arid landscapes and a circus with a torn tent constitute the theatrical space of the story.
Sergios, Toto and little Rallou discover a small wounded creature among the maize fields; they believe it is an angel, brought to Earth through the rain.
A teacher who wants a better future for his children, a crook, violent uncle in search of a treasure, a policeman who secretly plays the violin, the manager of a circus, an acrobat, a librarian and a blind poet who steal books are just some of the grownups that appear in the play; some act as allies and others as enemies in the three children’s’ effort to save a wounded angel, shortly before the war breaks out.
A humanist and anti-war play, for older children and young adults.
The play was awarded the 2010 State Prize for Best Play for children and young adults.
