  • Katia and Takis are 18 years old and madly in love. In conservative 1978-era Greece, two teenagers who are madly in love decide to take their relationship to the next level. They want to make love for the first time, thus overcoming their bashfulness as well as the stereotypical social mores of the time. Their “guide” in this journey towards the culmination of their relationship is an old-fashioned sex encyclopedia according to which men are not to have casual sexual relations with girls they do not know or with “filthy, barefoot tourists”, while women are to avoid “night clubs with juke-boxes, sex-atmosphere and low lighting”. The moralistic views of this antiquated lexicon baffle the young couple, thus creating the right circumstances for a tender comedy with a vintage aesthetic and an explosive pace. It also provides them with the occasion to express their very differing opinions on politics, society, and relationships in general while testing the limits of their own relationship in the process.
