- Sara Crewe, a wealthy schoolgirl from India, lives at Miss Minchin’s boarding school in London until, on her birthday, a solicitor arrives with tragic news: her father has died and his fortune has been lost. Overnight, she goes from being a beloved pupil to an attic servant, enduring the cold, hunger and humiliations inflicted by Miss Minchin while retaining her dignity and generosity. When Miss Minchin throws her out into the snow, Sara meets Guy, the lawyer of Mr Carrisford, her father’s business partner, who has been searching everywhere for her because it has been discovered that the money was never lost. The mysterious Ram Dass transforms her attic into a luxurious room, and Sara prepares to travel to India with Guy and her beloved servant Becky to claim her inheritance. Meanwhile, the boarding school collapses financially and Miss Minchin is left alone amid the ruins of her pride. A play based on A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
