The subtitle reads “Man at Sea!.” It is a scenic reconsideration of the murder of the American journalist George Washington Polk in Thessaloniki during the Civil War. The second docudrama play of the writer starts with a black and white video of the retrieval of Polk’s body from the Thermaic Gulf, in 1948. Action resumes in the air, with George and Kostas flying from Cairo to Athens during the first scene. There, they will receive the cares of the flight attendant, Rhea. George and Rhea fall in love instantly. During the second scene the couple is presented, after a while, in their house in Athens, on the first night of their marriage, after a traditional Greek celebration. During the third scene we are transferred to Kostas Chatziargiris’ office, in Athens. There, George heard from his friend that his articles are starting to create dissatisfaction in America. In the fourth scene the time is Ash Monday and the place is Sounion. The Polk couple, along with their now good friend Kostas, are having a picnic near the sea, following the tradition of the kite and fast. George reveals to his friend that he is pursuing a worldwide exclusive interview with the leader of the left party in the mountains of Macedonia. After that, he is planning on returning to America with Rhea, to start anew. In the fifth scene we are transferred to Thessaloniki airport. George has just gotten off the plane, as he takes his small luggage and moves towards the end of the corridor. A military vehicle stops next to him. It is the military officer Harvey, who will offer to lead the journalist to downtown Thessaloniki. The begging of the end has just begun. The five scenes are surrounded by six video images and presentations of the six preponderant versions of the murder. After the play the writer suggests that a questionnaire is distributed to the audience, so that each one of them can offer his opinion on the real story behind the mystery. He suggests with a note at the end that the results of these questionnaires are published.
