Four women of very different personalities, social backgrounds, professions and ages meet in the ladies’ room of a Greek live-music nightclub to freshen up. All four have had plenty to drink. While waiting for a toilet cubicle to become available, one begins railing against her fate and the things she has to endure from her partner.
The others sympathise and, tipsy, begin describing their own partners and their behaviour. One is a writer, calm and tender; another takes everything his partner earns and spends it; another is a wealthy businessman who lavishes money on his girlfriend; and another is jealous and volatile, hitting his partner whenever he becomes suspicious.
Their stories, the whisky and their pain leave them vulnerable. They confide in one another, accuse and mock their partners, and resolve to support each other and give the men “the boot” the following day.
After a succession of funny stories, one of the women, now very drunk, calls her partner to come and collect her, explaining where she is. When the door opens and the man walks in, all four recognise him as their own partner.
