The Greek Play Project

Playwright: Sofianna Theofanous

Marilyn is a musical-theatrical fairy tale following Marilyn, a little pig with dreams that reach far beyond the pigsty. At the “Delicious Delights” farm where she lives, her difference makes the owner, Polyvios, uncomfortable, and he plans to sell her. Through an apparent “opportunity” to become a star, Marilyn is taken to the Farm of the Chosen Life, a place that outwardly resembles paradise but is governed by strict, superficial rules of acceptance. There, she encounters snobbish, fearful and competitive animals. Her only allies are Juan, the clumsy dog, and her loyal friend Jerry, who secretly follows her in order to protect her from Polyvios. Through trials, conflicts and moments of loneliness, Marilyn is called upon to remain true to herself and to prove that worth is not measured by “glamour”, but by truth and friendship.
