During rehearsals for the production of Shakespeare’s Richard III, the director behaves in an authoritarian manner towards the actors. As rehearsals progress, the director, who has reserved the lead role for himself, becomes increasingly demanding towards a young actor, harassing him and pushing the rehearsals to the extreme. Many years after the play’s staging, the actor decides to share his story. The asterisk in Richard III symbolizes the stories of power abuse behind closed rehearsal doors.
