On a bison ranch in Dakota in 1995, a family attempts to sell its ancestral property to a Chinese investor. But first, one “small” – yet significant – problem must be resolved: beneath the estate lies a mass grave of Native Americans, victims of an unacknowledged genocide. The family tries to commercialise its past, but a Native American curse upends their plans. An imaginary version of the Wild West, where genocides become tourist attractions and the traumas of the past become marketable narratives. A dark farce about the legacy of colonialism, greed, and the loneliness of modern human beings who consume everything – even themselves.
