{"id":10285,"date":"2024-11-01T05:50:45","date_gmt":"2024-11-01T05:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greek-theatre.gr\/new\/discovering-new-playwrights-in-catalunya\/"},"modified":"2024-11-01T06:37:17","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T06:37:17","slug":"discovering-new-playwrights-in-catalunya","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/greek-theatre.gr\/en\/new\/discovering-new-playwrights-in-catalunya\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovering New Playwrights in Catalunya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Teatre Nacional de Catalunya\u2019s commitment to contemporary creators is renewed this season<\/p>\n<p>by developing the project that began last year to discover and support new playwrights.<\/p>\n<p>They have created a Reading Board and they have a reception mailbox for anyone who wishes to<\/p>\n<p>send them their plays.<\/p>\n<p>They are looking for any type of play that can&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8211; Reflect our time.<br \/>\n&#8211; Reflect on our society.<br \/>\n&#8211; Innovate and explore literary or theatrical languages.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a play, they offer you the opportunity to have it staged.<\/p>\n<p>The Reading Board will read and assess it and, if selected, it will be publicised through dramatic<\/p>\n<p>readings or, if\u00a0possible, performed on one of the TNC stages.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>La mancha<\/em><\/strong><strong>, the first play performed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>La mancha<\/em>, by Albert Llad\u00f3, is the first play in the project\u00a0<em>Discovering New Playwrights\u00a0<\/em>to be<\/p>\n<p>performed at the TNC this season. Selected from hundreds of plays received, it was noted for<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0its perspective ideologically committed to our reality.<\/p>\n<p>The playwright will be able to work on his text for a year, with dramaturgic assistance from<\/p>\n<p>the members of the Reading Board and the team that will perform the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>hoW TO PARTICIPATE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Send your text to the digital mailbox,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:textos@tnc.cat\"><strong>textos@tnc.cat<\/strong><\/a>, providing a name or pen name and contact<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n<li>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2) Professionally performed plays will not be accepted, but those seen in workshops and dramatised<\/p>\n<p>readings will be admitted.<br \/>\n&#8211; The play can only be sent once to the Reading Board.<br \/>\n&#8211; Rewritings will only be accepted if explicitly requested by the TNC.<br \/>\nPlays must be submitted with:<br \/>\n&#8211; Numbered pages<br \/>\n&#8211; A common and easy to read typeface (12 points)<br \/>\n&#8211; A cover bearing the title of the play and the playwright\u2019s name or pen name\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The texts received will be read and assessed by the Reading Board, which will inform the playwright<\/p>\n<p>of its evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some plays will be selected for dramatised readings.<\/strong>\u00a0Help will also be provided for playwrights who<\/p>\n<p>wish to continue working on their texts after contact with the stage.<\/p>\n<p>Of all the pieces received,\u00a0<strong>one play will be selected to be performed at the Sala Tallers of the TNC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For one year, the playwright will be able to work on his or her text with the team that will perform it<\/p>\n<p>and assisted by the members of the Reading Board.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:-62.25pt;\"><strong>WHO ARE THE MEMBERS OF THE READING BOARD?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Xavier Albert\u00ed,<\/strong>\u00a0Artistic Director of the TNC<br \/>\n<strong>Albert Arribas,<\/strong>\u00a0playwright, stage director and theatre translator<br \/>\n<strong>Ignasi Camprodon,<\/strong>\u00a0Artistic Coordinator of the TNC<br \/>\n<strong>Davide Carnevali,<\/strong>\u00a0playwright and theatre translator into Italian<br \/>\n<strong>Jordi Carrillo,<\/strong>\u00a0Artistic Coordinator of the TNC<br \/>\n<strong>Narc\u00eds Comadira,<\/strong>\u00a0poet, playwright and painter<br \/>\n<strong>Llu\u00efsa Cunill\u00e9,<\/strong>\u00a0playwright<br \/>\n<strong>Laurent Gallardo,<\/strong>\u00a0literary and theatre translator into French<br \/>\n<strong>John London,<\/strong>\u00a0literary and theatre translator, and professor at Goldsmiths, University of London.<br \/>\n<strong>Josep Maria Mir\u00f3,<\/strong>\u00a0playwright and stage director<br \/>\n<strong>Pau Mir\u00f3,<\/strong>\u00a0actor, playwright and stage director<br \/>\n<strong>Clarice Plasteig,<\/strong>\u00a0actress and theatre translator into French<br \/>\n<strong>Xavier Pujolr\u00e0s,<\/strong>\u00a0artistic advisor.
