A feverish monologue, delivered by a man who “peels off” his family and love life. His recent separation from his wife incites painful memories; her live videotaped presence acts as a dreamlike underlay of a fractured life, and as a narrator.
Self-observation and self-sarcasm; crudeness and lyricism; transvestism and nakedness; the narrator’s division: all in the name of confession and redemption.
The project is based on the Novella Aegypius Monachus (2001, revised reissue: 2013).
